Registration for the 5’th Annual Tatanka point-to-point mountain bike race is now open! This trail event, hosted by Black Hills Trails and put on as part of the Sturgis Bicycles, Art, and Music (BAM) Festival, features 3 different distances making it appropriate for most abilities. The longest, Epic distance race sees riders shuttled to Mount Rushmore for an early morning start and more than 80 miles of the best single-track trail the Black Hills area has to offer. The shorter distances, one starting in Piedmont and including a 30+ miles of single-track, and the shortest option at 20 miles round things out.
The second annual Sturgis Gran Fondo will be held a bit earlier in the year, on August 27, 2016. The inaugural event in 2015 proved the region has a huge appetite for road cycling events, and the second iteration of the Sturgis Gran Fondo will be even bigger and better as a result. Visit the official Sturgis Gran Fondo website for up to the minute details.
